The measured results

Every number below is read straight from the test. Products are listed in the order they finished.

All measurements (5 more)+

Lubricity/scoring test vs 10W-30

  • 1Bar & Chain Oil

the bearing on the left is a 10w30 from a previous video the bearing on the right is the bar and chain oil as you can see there's a lot more scoring on the barn chain bearing than there is on the 10w30 (chapter marker states 14.4% more scoring/damage)

Cold flow test at 15 below zero Fahrenheit

  • 1Bar & Chain Oil

when it's really cold it doesn't flow

Tackiness after use

  • 1Bar & Chain Oil

once it's heated up it loses that tackiness so any sort of advantage anticipated from having sort of a cushioning effect from having that tackiness is going to be lost pretty much the first time you use it

Foaming test in see-through crankcase

  • 1Bar & Chain Oil

what we noticed was inside the engine that had the see-through panel it did seem to have a little bit of foaming that's a problem you don't want your oil to foam at all

Used oil filtration check

  • 1Bar & Chain Oil

I'm not finding any sort of contamination inside this filter

How it was tested

  • lubricity/bearing scoring test compared to 10W-30
  • cold flow test at negative 15 degrees Fahrenheit
  • foaming test using a see-through crankcase engine
  • engine load test mowing tall grass
  • used oil filtration for metal contamination

so as barn chain oil it gets substitute for motor oil I don't really think it is because we saw some very interesting things from the testing

From the test video verdict.
